Derrick called sounding very frustrated, using 10.4 on a dual processor G4 tower, with an Entourage problem.
Karl e-mailed looking for a program like WebWasher for his Mac.
Derrick’s e-mail
Derrick reports that the system is otherwise functioning normally, and he has not made any changes, yet when he booted up, it’s as if Entourage has started from scratch. His e-mail and settings are gone!
Here’s a link to information that will help you identify what info for which to search on your computer:

“Within the Microsoft User Data folder will be a folder called either Office 2004 Identities, Office X Identities, Office 2001 Identities or Office 98 Identities - the name will depend on the version of the Microsoft Office product installed. The Office Indentities folder contains your Entourage data files (mailboxes, addressbook). The Database file located in the Main Indentity folder contains your e-mail and mailboxes.”
Here’s an e-mail follow-up from Derrick:
“The only thing I did prior to this was, from work, changed my Comcast
password. I did receive a pop-up window at one point before things
went awry, telling me that I was unable to connect to the Comcast
server because my password was unrecognizable. I put in my new
password and was able to see everything as before. Then when I went
back an hour or so later to check for mail, everything was gone.
I hope you guys can help. Thanks!!”
Karl’s e-mail:
“Is there a something like WebWasher for the Mac? I am not having a problem with pop-ups, but with banner ads, etc. Sites like wheresgeorge.com load much more quickly on my Win 98SE machine using Firefox (1.0.4) _and_ WebWasher (Classic 3.4 build 57) than on my Mac (an iBook G4 running OSX 10.3.9 and Firefox 1.0.4). I understand that there is a Mac version of WebWasher, but I have heard that it does not work well, and may even cause problems. Can you suggest any programs which would help solve this problem?”
Found this program, however, it doesn’t look as if it’s been updated in awhile (working with Explorer??):

I appreciate any assistance from other listeners and visitors here. Thanks for listening and calling!
