Using the method above, you can also identify your junk mail folder on the server as the one you'd like Mail.app to move junk mail to, too...

Jay - glad you asked this question. It works! Just needs a little extra configuration "magic"... because Mail.app has 2 Sent message folders for you, one for local mail, the other for your Zimbra, IMAP mail.

In Mail.app, find and select the Sent Messages folder for your Zimbra (or other IMAP mail host) account in the list of its subdirectories usually on the left-hand side of your windows. Go to the Mailbox pulldown menu and select Use This Mailbox For... and select Sent, for sent messages.

Mail.app should now update your sent messages in the same folder. Hope this makes sense, alleviates some of the frustration. Best!

Thanks for this post. I have been bouncing among mail apps recently & starting using Mail last week. In addition to the sent-Drafts issue, I have found the following as well:

*Doesn't sync Sent folder with Zimbra web client. Instead each app creates its own Sent folder. This is a pain in the neck.
*Mail syncs from Zimbra web client almost immediately, but web client doesn't automatically update changes from Mail. Esp my web Inbox doesn't reflect changes to Mail Inbox unless I close & reopen Mail.

Do others have these problems?
