First time Mac users - WGN Website Wednesday night show notes: Jan 3-4, 2006
This show, on WGN AM 720 broadcast from the Tribune tower in downtown Chicago is, for tonight, dedicated to novice computer users! We’re spending time talking about the basics, thinking many people in the audience may have just received computers over the holidays, remembering a short dozen years ago how Steve and Johnnie left their computer in the box for months before working up the courage to open it…
For those of you who’ve just gotten your Macs, you may want to visit Apple’s web page devoted to first-time users, Mac 101: http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/ .
Even if you’re not new to Macs, you may at least be new to iLife and are planning to make your own movies, walk though the smart tutorial now available from Apple on how to use iMovie: http://www.apple.com/support/imovie/tutorial/ .
You may also want to check out our list of the proper care and feeding of your Mac, on our WGN page, located here: http://wgn.ondecktech.com/ .
We had a question about laptop battery life, here’s the page about batteries on Apple’s site I mentioned: http://www.apple.com/batteries/ .
We also had a question about video conferencing between Mac and Windows systems (cross platform), to which we’re investigating an answer. Stay tuned for next week’s show!
