East of the Fault Line by David Singer available on iTunes

David Singer, a friend from high school, has released his new solo album and it rocks.

East of the Fault Line

The first song, Amaranthine, has these lyrics available from iTunes free:

In part, in time, you pick up some habits
from your high school friends.
You sit in the attic planning crimes,
it’s setup this way by design…

Assuming he means bad habits here.

When You Come Around Marie is one of my favorites, please listen to it first, although I like Little Charles because it’s sweet and goofy it reminds me of the play Osage County, already on broadway.com on its way to Broadway, for which David wrote the music. I only recently discovered this at our recent high school reunion, where I was delighted to hear about his progress as a human being and artist, and I was not surprised at all, it made sense, because the music sounds like his. I think you’ll agree when you give it a listen, he’s got his own voice.

There were many kids I was happy to make contact with again at the reunion, it brought back how many unique personalities there were back then that I took for granted, that now fill me with wonder, with the results of their explorations and other work now beginning to manifest themselves, like David’s songs, although it certainly was also a reminder of my somewhat misanthropic youth. I’ll be much less foolish when I’m dead.

In the meantime, I’m enjoying David’s new album, hope you may, too.
