Not sure if you or your readers have heard this. But if anyone out there purchased a new Mac or Xserve from the Apple Online Store, an Apple retail store, or an Apple authorized reseller on or after October 1, 2007 that does not have Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard included can upgrade to Leopard for $9.95. I’ve posted some details on my blog at http://www.askbigpapa.com/blogs/51/Upgrade-to-Leopard-for-995.html
