About MacWork.com

Featuring show notes from our participation on WGN radio’s Website Wednesday Nights with Steve and Johnnie, where we talk about tech and take Mac questions for four hours each week, our blog is maintained by OnDeckTech’s team of Apple-focused technology consultants. The blog has taken an open-source and collaboration focus as we’ve become a leading Zimbra Collaboration Suite host and consultants, supporting hundreds of organizations around the world 24×7. We use our every-day experience with Macintosh computers in businesses and homes in Chicago, and around the world (we travel and provide remote support, too), as the basis of our material, and insights as they occur are documented here. The purpose of the blog is both to share our passion and enthusiasm for our work with Apple and open source technology with you, and to promote our team.

If you like what you read, please contribute feedback, link to us, and perhaps the best way to encourage us: if you know someone looking for Mac help, whether for an enterprise, school or at home, please recommend us!

Who is OnDeckTech 24×7 Mac Help?

We are not here to convert you to Mac! We are a Mac-focused group of consultants, based in Chicago, who provide advice, installation and support to hundreds of customers worldwide, from people at home through global enterprises, public and private. More than 90% of our customers use at least Mac and Windows together, and a growing number also have the need to integrate Red Hat or other Linux variants, among other platforms.

What alternatives are their to Microsoft Exchange? How do we use our Mac systems to simplify our business? How do we integrate with the Windows machines we use? How do we support our Apple customers in a dominantly Windows world? We hope these questions are answered entertainingly in this blog, with contributions from members of our team, not only technical, but also administrative and marketing. The objective is not to persuade life-long Windows-users to give up their investment in knowledge and switch to Mac.

We’re sharing our stories to provide insight into how to use Macs at work, in business, public and private, government, schools, not-for-profits, enterprise corporations and small sole proprietorships, with the hope everyone has something to gain from learning how one team, OnDeckTech, attempts to use technology from a few manufacturers, such as Apple Computer, Inc. and Zimbra, to improve life for themselves and their customers. Thanks for your receptivity, thanks for your patience, thanks, when you’re inspired, for your constructive feedback, and thanks for visiting MacWork.com.
